Description: Participants of the Literarische Schreibwerkstatt present a colourful potpourri of self-written texts: from short stories to poems, from humorous to thought-provoking. The Literarische Schreibwerkstatt is a project of the Writing and Reading Centre of the University of Münster. It offers writing enthusiasts the opportunity to write creatively and to exchange ideas about the writing process within the group.

Description: In their presentation, Trio Fatale combines analytical reflections with musical presence. At the centre are relations – relations in music as well as in societal attributions. Harmonic tensions, sonic relationships and musical roles enter into a dialogue with gender roles, power structures and traditional images in art song literature. The ensemble questions canon formation and role attributions and opens space for previously unheard voices.

Description: Zwischen uns. is a multimedia concert performance with music, spoken word, video and dance. The interdisciplinary collective of musicians, performers and the artist Lara Tjagvad brings, as the Treff.Ensemble together with members of the Stegreif Orchestra, sonic and visual worlds between experiment, improvisation and choreography to the stage.

Description: Who decides what is right? By what do we measure our worth? And how much room is left for doubt when comparisons set the pace? In a world that categorises, evaluates and sorts, we search for a place that truly feels like our own. Well-known and modern musical songs merge into a musical narrative about insecurity, resistance and the longing to find one’s own measure.

Description: When Die Lieferanten meet the VERY Big Band of the Uni Münster, a concert becomes a joint statement: feeling meets groove, indie pop meets rich big band sound. What began in 2017 as a flatshare idea has developed into one of the country’s most exciting indie pop projects for DIE LIEFERANTEN – with airy guitars, powerful synths, funk bass and lyrics between irony, seriousness and a societal gaze.

Description: Two people. Between them, a thread woven from letters and experiences. Daddy Long Legs, the moving two-person musical by John Caird and Paul Gordon, tells the story of the young Jerusha Abbott, who, as an orphan, discovers herself through letters to her anonymous benefactor—finding her voice, her courage, and love. In an acoustically intimate setting of piano, guitar, and cello, song and music intertwine into a story about writing as self-empowerment, about the power to reinvent oneself, and ultimately about a strong young woman.

Description: Different perspectives on music – what happens when we exchange? We are a choir of 70 singers and a dance group of 20 dancers, both from the university context, with multifaceted backgrounds and musical experiences. We approach music from different perspectives. The Performance Team translates through dance the stories that the music tells.

Description: The “Duo Schlagwerk” consists of Brazilian percussionists. Their programme features contemporary chamber music works for percussion by, among others, Oscar Bolão, Ary Barroso, Friedman & Samuels, Reich and others. Guilherme Misina completed his certificate programme in 2022 under Prof. Stephan Froleyks, Prof. Armin Weigert, Gereon Voß and Katarzyna Mycka and has already gained some concert experience at Brazilian music festivals.

Description: What if science meets art? Theory becomes emotion, boundaries and connection become tangible: impulses from geography and education on the topic of borders flow into improvised scenes by Momentum, while the songwriter Pauli Sprenger sets the ideas to music. Description: For more than 30 years, the University Culture Office has been organising a short story competition at irregular intervals. All those enrolled at a university in Münster or working at the university may participate. German, English or both are possible; the stories must just not exceed 7,500 characters. This year’s prompt is “Wände | Walls.” We are curious to see how the authors take up this impulse and which stories the jury will award a prize.

Description: Alice in Wonderland – a bizarre journey for young and old! With dance, theatre, literature and improvisation, we take you into a topsy-turvy world full of fantasy, movement and surprising encounters. Together with Alice, we explore growing up, sense and nonsense, and the question of dream or reality. Poetic imagery meets lively scenes, humour meets depth – and again and again a touching message emerges about courage, change and being different.

Description: WhatASound tells musical stories of relationships full of closeness, conflict and longing. Momentum draws scenic inspiration from these songs and improvises two-person scenes that bring dynamics between people to life. Loud and quiet, humorous and profound, moments arise in pairs in which relationships are illuminated from different perspectives.

Description: The installative concert performance “(ge)tragen” explores the feeling, the limits, the possibilities of being carried as a primal state. The performance poses questions such as “What do you need to feel carried?”, “When do you feel being carried in your everyday life?”, “What or whom do you carry?” Where do we feel this being carried, as individuals, as a society?

Description: Let’s not kid ourselves: Münster is not Naples. So travel with us across the Brenner Pass to Italy, always searching for espresso, amore and dolce vita. Description: As part of the NEUE WÄNDE Festival, we from Weitblick Münster e.V. are once again delighted to present a slam. This year, we are dedicating ourselves entirely to poetry and literature. Various poetry slammers from Münster compete in a friendly literary contest, presenting their self-written texts one after another. The audience gets to decide which text was the most wonderful, most inspiring and all-around most magnificent, thus crowning the winner of the evening.

Description: Improv theatre meets the art of debate: the unique mix of spontaneity and acuity! What happens when quick-witted debates meet creative improvisation? With us, you experience it live! In this special performance, the art of improvisational theatre merges with the precision of debating. The performers react in a flash to unexpected topics, build arguments that captivate the audience and transform everything into entertaining, surprising scenes.

Description: “A man loses his head. Drives himself crazy, faces the end. Can’t find peace, with both eyes open.” A Manfred, mid-twenties. Despite his ever-helpful friend Bill, Manfred is plagued by failures. Not accepted into his desired course of study, having already lost his girlfriend and been thrown out by his demanding mother. In his grandparents’ attic, Manfred finds shelter.

Description: What happens when five improv players from five European countries meet? Lolo from Italy, Jan from Poland, Camilla from Portugal/Brazil, Marie from France and Laura from Germany bring their languages, cultures and personal stories onto the stage, creating a special, improvised evening. Between homeland clichés, surprising commonalities and misunderstandings, personal stories and scenes emerge.

Description: The highlight and closing of the festival is the three-hour show “Tapetenwechsel” — a retrospective of the NEUE WÄNDE 2026 weekend featuring dance, singing, improv, and much more. The show is the quintessence of the festival, yet far more than a best-of of the past days: some of the performers may already have appeared on one of the festival stages, but many acts are created specifically for this show.
